Moths in a museum

Howard | 6 July 2015

We were asked to treat a heavy clothes moth problem at a local museum last week.

Taking up a rug showed the extent of the infestation.

These insects had spread to a number of delicate items such as fur hats so we treated each area individually and differently.

First we sprayed delicates in situ

Next we treated the carpet and rugs

Next  open doorways were sealed with plastic sheeting to prevent any drift....

.... and finally we used an Ultra Low Volume misting machine to knock down adult moths throughout the space.

The museum was able to open as usual the next morning and from now on a regular monitoring regime using the moths own pheromones will be started to help prevent things getting out of hand again.
