Cleankill shortlisted for sustainability award

BPCA Finalist

Cleankill Pest Control is pleased to announce it is a finalist in the sustainability category at the 2023 British Pest Control Association (BPCA) Members Awards.

The BPCA Sustainability Award seeks to reward companies that go above and beyond in their protection of the environment by championing sustainable solutions and projects that reduce the pest control industry’s impact on the planet. It is open to any BPCA member able to provide details of their sustainability journey, with a quantifiable assessment of their reduced impact.

Sustainability is important to Cleankill. When it was founded in 1995, sustainability was placed alongside profit and a commitment to the community as one of its core values. It is an ethos that remains in place today.

Cleankill Managing Director Paul Bates: “It is a privilege to be shortlisted for the sustainability award at this year’s BPCA Members Awards. Being sustainable isn’t about talking the talk, it’s about walking the walk and at Cleankill this means multiple small things adding up into one major difference. This could be inner-city technicians taking public transport when appropriate or our championing of traditional pest control techniques.

“One area where we’ve been able to demonstrate a considerable improvement is with digital reporting. By reducing our reliance on paper, we have saved an estimated 1,888,208 litres of water and reduced our carbon footprint by 74.665 tonnes.”

Cleankill has won numerous awards over the years, include Best Green Business at the South London Business Awards in 2013, Best Green Business at the Croydon Business Awards in 2016 and Responsible Business of the Year (2018) and Green Business of the Year (2020) at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards. In 2017, Cleankill was named Provider of the Year at the ARMA Ace Awards and in 2019 Company of the Year at the British Pest Management Awards. To see a complete list of awards, click here.
