Cleankill Pest Control is celebrating after again being named ‘Green Business of the Year’ at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards.

This success adds to Cleankill’s growing cabinet of trophies, which already includes awards for ‘Provider of the Year’ (ARMA Ace Awards 2017), ‘Best Customer Service’ (Lewes District Business Awards 2017), ‘Best Employer’ (Croydon Business Excellence Awards 2018), and ‘Company of the Year’ (British Pest Management Awards 2019).

Now in their twelfth year, Cleankill has had considerable success at the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards, after also being named ‘Green Business of the Year’ in 2017 and ‘Responsible Business of the Year’ in 2018. This year’s ‘Green Business of the Year’ award marks the fourth time they have won a dedicated ‘green’ award.

Commenting on the award, Cleankill’s Managing Director Paul Bates said: “Winning the GDBA ‘Green Business of the Year’ award in 2017 and now winning it again in 2020 shows that we are continuing to move forward as a business. Certainly, no one can accuse us of resting on past glories!

“The Gatwick Diamond area is enormous and includes thousands of businesses; to be shortlisted is a real achievement, but to win is absolutely fantastic. After everything 2020 has thrown at us, this is a wonderful way to end the year.

“This award is a real credit to every member of the team, from office staff to surveyors and technicians. We are always looking for better ways to do our job effectively, while reducing our carbon footprint. Our customers now know they can rely on us to get the job done but in the most environmentally responsible way possible.”

In addition to the ‘Green Business of the Year Award’, Cleankill were also finalists in the ‘Professional Services Firm of the Year’ and the ‘Award for Brighter Thinking’ categories, and Managing Director Paul Bates was one of three people to be shortlisted in the ‘Business Person of the Year’ category.

This year, in keeping with the current COVID-19 regulations, the award ceremony was held virtually, and was compered by the podcaster, author, former MP, and TV and radio personality, Gyles Brandreth. A a select few members of the Cleankill team watched the ceremony at their headquarters in Kenley, near Croydon, while enjoying a socially distanced curry and a few beers.
