It’s more than just paper

Sustainability

One website estimates between two and 13 litres of water are needed for every piece of A4 paper; another suggests the highest quality paper requires 20 liters. Whatever the actual figure, this is a lot of water to produce what is often just thrown into the bin.

This is just one reason why we went paperless.

All of our surveyors and technicians now use a digital reporting app from Bantham Technologies. This contains every form and document they may use while working in the field. It therefore eradicates the need for paper forms and greatly reduces our waste.

Watch this testimonial on the Bantham Technologies website to learn about the ways digital reporting has improved the way our technicians work.

Bantham Technologies issues us with an environomics report every month. This estimates how many travel miles, tonnes of CO2 and work hours digital reporting has saved us. It also provides a figure for how many sheets of A4 paper we’ve saved.

In September 2023, they estimated we saved 21,316 sheets of A4 paper, which, even if we take the most conservative of estimates for water usage, also means a saving of 42,632 liters of water.

Cleankill Managing Director Paul Bates explains: “When it comes to achieving Net Zero, we’ve always known that it is the small things that will have the biggest impact. Saving one piece of A4 paper might not seem important but when we look at the amount of paper we used to consume before moving to digital reporting, it is clear the benefits are considerable. Annually, we are estimated to be saving 174,538 pieces of A4 and if we consider that not only as a financial saving, but also a saving in terms of the resources used to make, transport and store the paper before it gets to us, then it is clear the benefits are considerable.”

Established in 1995, Cleankill Pest Control offers eradication and preventative services for all public health pests, including: miceratscockroacheswaspsfleassquirrels and pest birds. As a registered waste carrier, we can also remove pigeon debris and other waste.

Cleankill has offices in Surrey, Buckinghamshire, East Sussex and Bristol with customers throughout London, Surrey, Sussex, the Home Counties, Bristol, Gloucestershire and Somerset.
